Flying Nurse project in partnering with Wheels for Africa
Medics For Humanity will start in February 2021 the Flying Nurses team in partnering with Wheels4Africa. Wheels4Africa will help us to keep this plan rolling, literally. They are experts in rolling material like , ambulances or motor cycles.
In The Gambia lots of elderly people live alone and need care for their diabetes or other non-communicable diseases. There is a hug need to help people with their daily insulin treatment or with other specific care. These Nurses are qualified to administer medications, injections and provide medical treatment, and care related to health conditions including diabetes, tracheotomy, respiratory, colostomy, dressing injuries and so on. They mostly work in assisting those who are alone but also elderly, chronically ill, disabled, or cognitively impaired by performing the necessary medical therapies in the home of the people.
Again, depending on the needs of the person and their medical condition, an in-home nurse will come to the people and provide the care they require.
